Hugh Lewis – Honorary Staff Member

  • Jr. High Teacher & Asst. Boys BB Coach with Hank White, 1968-70
  • High School Teacher, 1971-72; 1981-83; 1984-86; 1989-97 (Several years working with Cheryl Johnson & Dance Troupe)
  • Assistant Principal for Deaf Dept., 1972-81 including one year as Dean of Student Life
  • Head Boys Track Coach Taking best Tracksters to State Tournaments, 1989-2009
  • National Head Track Coach - Took 16 track athletes to Moscow, Russia for Meet in 1990
  • FHSAA Track & Field State “A” Championship Highlight in 1991:
    • Michael Arrington, probably the best FSDB Trackster ever.
    • 1st place in 400m @ 00:49.0
    • 1st place in Long Jump @ 22’10.5”
    • 1st place in Triple Jump @ 47’1.275”
  • Flagler College Men’s Asst. BB Coach, 1986-96
  • Flagler College Women’s Head BB Coach (last 2 yrs. went to NAIA II National Championships), 1996-2000
  • Flagler College Men’s Assistant BB Coach  (3 yrs. went to NAIA II National Championships), 2000-05
  • PE Supervisor & Head Boys Track Coach, 1997-2000
  • Deaf Department Principal & Head Boys Track Coach, 2000-09
  • Retired in 2009 from FSDB after 41 years working with the Deaf
