Mona Kitson – Honorary Staff Member

  • Was instrumental in pushing for the establishment of the Mason-Dixon Girls’ Basketball Tournament that eventually was established in 1978.
  • Her 1974 Girls’ Track team won the Northeast Florida Conference title and the National Prep Mythical Championship by the NAD Deaf American magazine.
  • Established the Girls’ varsity volleyball team in 1970-71 for the first time in the school history and coached for 4 years.
  • Her team won the St. Johns River Conference championship in 1971. 
  • Established and coached the Girls’ varsity softball team in 1973-1974. 
  • Was the head coach of the Girls’ varsity basketball team and sponsor of the Floridian Club for 4 years, 1972-1975
