Louise Hudson

Cheerleading (1971-1974)

  • Cheerleader for 4 years. Her Cheerleading team won the Championship during the Mason-Dixon Basketball Tournament in 1973. Cheryl Johnson was the coach.
  • Participated in the FSDB Modern Dance Group for 4 years (1971-1974) under the able direction of Coach Mrs. Cheryl Johnson.
  • Female Athlete with Highest Academic Average at FSDB in 1973 and 1974.

Track & Field (1970-1974)

  • Most Outstanding Distance Runner in 1973.
  • Member of the 1974 FSDB Track & Field Team that was selected as the National Champions by the Deaf American Magazine and Northeast Florida Conference Title.
  • Participated in the Deaflympics for Women’s Track in 1973 and 1977 as follows:
    • 1973: 440-yard dash at 63.0 seconds for 4th place.
    • 1977: 400m at 57.1 seconds for the 4th place. She broke and still holds the American Record for the Deaf today.
    • 1977: 4x400m Relay at 3:59.0 for the Gold Medal.
