Football

  • In 1976, he played both Junior Varsity and Varsity Football in the same year.
  • During the last game of the varsity football season, which culminated in winning the National Deaf Prep Championship with an impressive record of 10 wins and no losses, he made an extraordinary impact by single-handedly recording 18 tackles, effectively stopping Taylor High School from advancing.
  • He continued his football career as a Varsity Player in 1977 and 1978.
  • He was recognized as the Most Outstanding Defensive Lineman of the Year for 1978.

Basketball

  • In 1978, played Junior Varsity under Coach LaMee, who was later inducted into the 2024 FSDAA Hall of Fame.
  • In 1979, he advanced to the Varsity Basketball, playing under Coach Dennis Bennett, who would be inducted into the FSDAA Hall of Fame in 2025.
  • His 1978-1979 basketball team achieved a significant milestone by winning the Mason-Dixon Boys Basketball Championship, ending an 11-year drought for the team.
  • This victory marked the second time FSDB had won the championship since the tournament's inception in 1953, with the first win occurring in 1968.
  • Additionally, his 1979 team secured the title of St. Johns River Conference Champions.
