Robert "Bob" McMahon

Track & Field

  • One of the best tracksters in the FSDB history. 
  • Won 1st place in 880 yard run four times in a row during the FHSAA Track & Field State Class “C” Meets, 1967 thru 1970.
  • His best time was timed at 1:58.4 (1 minute, 58.4 seconds) in 1970. 
  • His 1968 Track & Field team won the 2nd place in the State Class C Meet. 
  • He was the anchor for the 1970 Mile Relay team that broke the school and state records. The time was 3 minutes 30.0 seconds. It broke all-time mile-relay record in the National Deaf Mythical Prep kept by the Deaf American magazine. 
  • Participated in the Deaflympics twice, 1969 & 1973

Football & Basketball

  • Participated in varsity basketball (1968-70) and football (1969).
  • He was selected MVP of the 1969 varsity football team.
  • His 1968 BB team won the first-time ever Boys’ Mason-Dixon tournament championship.
  • His 1970 varsity basketball team won the Sportsmanship Award during the Mason-Dixon Boys Basketball Tournament.
