Track & Field

FHSAA Track & Field State “A” Championship Highlight in 1991. According to Mr. Hugh Lewis, his head track coach, Michael Arrington was probably the best FSDB Trackster ever.

  • 1st place in 400m @ 00:49.0
  • 1st place in Long Jump @ 22’10.5” 
  • 1st place in Triple Jump @ 47’ 1.5"

Basketball

  • Selected to be on the All-Tournament Team for the 1991 Mason-Dixon  Boys’ Basketball Tournament
  • 1990 - Honorable Mention on the All-County basketball team with 296 points and 144 rebounds. Tied then-school record with 12 steals against St. Joseph Academy.

Football

  • During a game against NC School for the Deaf in 1990, Mike rushed for 315 yards and made 5 touchdowns. He broke the school record for rushing yardage. 
  • 1989 - All-County football team (Lineman) for 2nd straight year. MVP for defense in St. Johns County. Did 22 solo tackles plus 17 assist tackles. Recovered 4 fumbles and returned 2 for touchdowns.

Accolades

  • During the 1990 Athletic Banquet, he was selected the Best Offensive Back in Football (1,658 yards and 21 TDs) and Best Defensive Player in Basketball. MVP in Boys Track.
