Lorraine Crawford

Basketball

  • Was one of the best all-around female athletes in the FSDB  history.
  • Playing basketball against the 5A team - Middleburg, she made the record high number of rebounds (40). Her team upset this heavily favored Middleburg.
  • Mason-Dixon Girls BB Tournaments: Won 2nd place in 1983 (Lost by 1 point) and Championship in 1984. All-Star and Tourney MVP in both tournaments.
  • Received a Gold Medal for the Women’s BB in the 1985 Deaflympics.
  • Continued her BB career at Gallaudet University, 1984-86

Track & Field

  • Was a Shot Put champion at 37’8 ¾” and 2nd place in both 4x400 relay and 4x100 relay in the Florida State Track & Field Meet, 1982
  • Was on the Mile Relay team timed at 4:25.5 in 1981.

Volleyball

  • Was on the Girls Varsity Volleyball team for 6 years (1979-1984).
  • Selected as the1st team All-American by National Deaf American magazine for 2 years in a row. (1983 & 1984). MVP in 1984.
  • All-District for 3 years (1982-84).
  • Hold records in Spikes (53) and Blocks (67) in 1983.
